Who we're following.
Our favorite finds from Instagram - click for some daily inspiration.
It's hard not to be on Instagram without coming across the work of Birmingham-and-Atlanta-based architect and all around design guru, Bill Ingram. His complex style involves a heavy mash-up of super-traditional southern and mid-century LA modern, and everything in between. His simple elegance belies the studied approach he takes to everything from his homes, to his interiors, and his gardens. A follow-on his Instagram will be well worth your attention, trust us.
What we're eyeing.
Our favorite finds of the moment, sure to make your house or your life, just a little better, a little prettier, or perhaps just a bit more awesome.
Our favorite resource for lighting continues to be design-and-manufacture house Visual Comfort, and their off-shoot retail partner, Circa Lighting. And our favorite time of the design season is the few weeks after Highpoint Market, when all the various design houses release their new wares to trade--and right now, we're basking in the proverbial (and literal) glow of all the new lighting options from Visual Comfort and crew. As we gear up for our latest round of new projects, we're sure to be working in as many of these new finds as possible. Our pick today is the fixture you see above, the Delphia Chandelier, and it is one of many new fixtures you'll see over at Circa Lighting. Enjoy!
What We're Doing.
While Nashville certainly doesn't lack for entertaining options, we've sorted through the mess to give you the best way(s) to spend your precious time.
We don't know about you but come this time of year, those of us at Domaine HQ definitely see a significant increase in the flannel shirt ratio of our wardrobe. And finally, all that flannel looks like it may be coming in handy when we pay a visit to the next Hilltown Axe Camp. Our friends south of the border (the Maury County border, to be exact) at Hilltown are hosting small groups of woodsy-minded folks to learn all about axe anatomy, usage, and safety. You'll enjoy some tasty food and beverages from the Columbia, TN scene, and go home with some memories and freshly cut (by you!) firewood. What's not to love about that?
What We're Reading.
The latest, and dare we say, the most important real estate news you need to see, curated by yours truly.
As we've often learned the hard way, great style can't be rushed. The same rule applies to your home--if you want a truly stylish abode that your neighbor can't just copy by ordering up the latest round from Crate and Barrel or Restoration Hardware, then you'll just have to take your time, buy things you love, and experiment! As the old adage, goes, "buy the best, cry once." When you finally get there, you'll be glad you did. See more tips on "collected style" from the new Architectural Digest spin-off, Clever.
