Who we're following.

Our favorite finds from Instagram - click for some daily inspiration.

For a mid-size city, Birmingham may have more architects per capita than anywhere else in the world--and that's good news for those of us who enjoy following architects on Instagram.  There seems to be some sort of nucleus of style that arose out of the Auburn school of architecture, the early years of the namesake firm of Bobby McAlpine, and the resulting diaspora, and that means lots of inspiration floating out on the web. One of these cool cats is Jeffrey Dungan, whose work has just started to show up in and around Nashville. His IG is full of inspiring pics of his work (like the one above from Alys Beach), his sharp-looking office digs, and his world travels.  Follow him and get hip to the Birmingham scene!

What we're eyeing.

Our favorite finds of the moment, sure to make your house or your life, just a little better, a little prettier, or perhaps just a bit more awesome.

Are you looking to escape the city?  Or just (really) downsize?  We may have just the solution for you!  While you've likely heard of the "Tiny House" craze of the last handful of years, most of what we've seen in that realm fall in the DIY category--think super functional, but not super stylish.  But why can't you have both? Now you can!  Clayton Homes teamed up with one of our favorite Southern architects, Jeffrey Dungan, (see more about Jeff above), for two distinct tiny home designs, delivered to wherever you can plant one, for less than you can spend on a car these days.

As Socrates once said, "the secret to happiness is not found in seeking more but enjoying less."  See how here →

What We're Doing.

While Nashville certainly doesn't lack for entertaining options, we've sorted through the mess to give you the best way(s) to spend your precious time.

We love the Caribbean. We try to hit a new and different island every year. The food, the culture, the tumultuous history, and, of course, the weather are all sources of endless fascination. But sometimes, jumping on a plane and leaving all your responsibilities behind just isn't an option--but Acme Feed & Seed can give you a little taste of the islands in downtown Nashville this summer!  Every Friday until labor day they are hosting the Acme Islander: a Friday Fish Fry on the rooftop with beach jams, Caribbean cuisine and the best view in Nashville. Legendary reggae artist Gramps Morgan will be spinning tropical tunes ‘til sunset. If you've spent any time in the real Caribbean, you'll know the Friday fish fry is where it's at.
