Who we're following.

Our favorite finds from Instagram - click for some daily inspiration.

Looking for strong yet romantic architecture in your life? Do you long for daily reminders that a pared-down yet classic aesthetic can enhance your life, and your sense of well-being?  I know I do!  And when I feel that way, I go look at the Instagram of Paul Bates Architecture. Man, he's good. Give him a follow and your inner aesthete will feel better, too!

What we're eyeing.

Our favorite finds of the moment, sure to make you house or your life, just a little better, a little prettier, or perhaps just a bit more awesome.

As soon as all the pretty leaves have fallen off the trees and we settle in for the long, cold winter (hopefully not too cold or long this year!), I start thinking about green things sprouting in Spring.  Many people might not know that I'm a closet gardener, but there are few things more peaceful than tending to some plants and potting up some herbs for the season.  And when I think about potting things, there is little reason to use anything other than the always classic Italian terracotta.  And if you want the best terracotta money can buy, you go to the source in Impruneta, Italy where terracotta pots have been made for centuries.  Don't know where to start?  Just call our peeps at Seibert & Rice.  You literally cannot go wrong.

What We're Doing.

While Nashville certainly doesn't lack for entertaining options, we've sorted through the mess to give you the best way(s) to spend your precious time.

Not knocking Nashville's restaurant scene in the least--as there more fantastic new options than we can even get to these days--but sometimes you just need to go see a classic in top form.  And in the Southeast, there may be no more seminal dining establishment than Highlands Bar and Grill in Birmingham.  Even though it's been around for more than 30 years, and probably influenced the modern state of Southern cuisine as much as any place has, it took until just this year for Frank Still and crew to finally take home a James Beard Award for Most Oustanding Restaurant in America.  That's right folks: best restaurant in the whole damn land.  So, if you've never been, now's the time.  If you've been, you probably should go back. As of this writing, I've got a table booked in 24 hours time.  Maybe I'll see you there?

What We're Reading.

The latest, and dare we say, the most important real estate news you need to see, curated by yours truly.

How much would you pay to live in one of the tallest buildings in the world?  Well, if you want to get in on this one, you'll have to have $18 million just to get in the door!  So, for now I guess we can all start complaining a little less about Nashville prices, huh?

So, we'll admit, the views are pretty good.  See some of them here...
